We’re looking for a new Senior Bridge Engineer in our Infrastructure Group to help drive the objectives and challenges our valued clients have trusted us to solve for them. 

 

As a SYSTRA US Senior Bridge Engineer you will join a world-class team of high-performing engineers, designers, drafters and others who work collectively to ensure client projects continue to thrive while remaining on track and budget.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be the key contact for bridge design projects in the California area
  • Mentor and manage more junior bridge design staff for assigned project work
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, design activities and project delivery for client bridge design needs
  • Lead technical bridge design work and ensure compliance to local and federal rules, standards and specifications
  • Suggest process improvements and practices that will help us deliver our client’s projects on time and on budget
  • Manage day to day client relationships on assigned projects and suggest potential solutions to unexpected additional needs that may come forward in your project work
  • Keep up to date on latest design standards and practices in bridge and structures design

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in structural design
  • Minimum of 10 years of bridge structural design experience
  • California PE
  • Experience as a design lead, assistant project manager or project manager on multiple types of bridge design efforts
  • Knowledge and expertise in the use of design software packages such as LARSA 4D, Midas, SAP, MicroStation, OpenRail and OpenBridges
  • Experience working with internal and external clients where the ultimate goal is to deliver pristine end products that solve infrastructure needs on a local and national level

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Structural Engineering
  • Other advanced degree(s)
  • SE certification
  • Experience on rail focused bridge design projects
  • Experience on high-speed rail bridge design projects
