The Role

SYSTRA India is growing the Data Science vertical of its Transport Modelling team to primarily cater to the Global Transport Modelling Demand (Including UK/Ireland, Middle East, Australia).  We are inviting applicants for Data Scientists preferably for Bangalore Location (remote/hybrid working could also be considered)
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a range of experience with Data Analysis, Database Management, and Data Visualization preferably within the Civil Engineering/ Transportation/ Infrastructure sectors. Main Duties

  • Undertake analysis and processing of traffic data/counts
  • Interpretation and presentation of results from transport models
  • Development of tools and automated processes for calibration/validation of transport models
  • Designing dashboards or web applications tailored for transportation-related applications

 

Educational Qualification & Experience:
Undergraduate degree in any field.  Master’s or advanced certification relevant to Data Science is a plus but not compulsory.
We are looking for candidates with 1 to 7 years of relevant experience. Candidates with slightly higher experience are also encouraged to apply and maybe considered.

 

Essential Technical Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Python, R, Visual Basic application, SQL, Macro building or similar tools.
  • Experience in database management, particularly with Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL.
  • Competency in creating visualizations and dashboards (Tableau, Power BI, React.js, d3.js or similar)
  • Exposure working with cloud services and utilizing APIs will be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in GIS mapping tools for interpreting quantitative transport models.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Desirable Skills

  • Expertise in transport modelling software (VISSIM, LINSIG, JUNCTIONS) for transportation analysis is desirable, but not mandatory
  • Understanding of UK transport modeling guidance (e.g., TAG) and strategic modeling packages (SATURN, EMME/2, VISUM), is desirable but not mandatory.
