Main Functions of Role

 

  • Head of Sustainability for SYSTRA Ltd, including connecting with SYSTRA (SA) Group Sustainability Colleagues.
  • Responsible for delivering the Sustainability Strategy in line with our mission, to Make Life More Accessible.
  • Advising the SYSTRA Ltd Exec & Management Board on any new developments industry trends and developments in the context Sustainability Strategy and Continuous Improvement

 

Role Duties

 

LEADERSHIP

  • Champion and embed the UK-IRL Sustainability Mission
  • Develop and deliver the company-wide Sustainability Strategy / Road Map including smart KPIs.
  • Co-ordinate and project manage Sustainability Strategy delivery through business engagement and workstreams.
  • Promote the company’s sustainability credentials internally and externally to all key stakeholders, including annual sustainability reporting, website content, internal communications and key client engagements.
  • Represent the company at Client & Industry thought-leading forums.
  • With support from the Practice Director, advise the Exec & Management Board on Industry Trends and Innovation in the context of Sustainability.

 

OPERATIONS & FINANCE

  • Accountable for reporting progress and setting, reviewing & achieving the Home Country Sustainability KPIs and reporting progress against Group KPIs.
  • Advise on and work within an annual budget for Sustainability set by the Exec Board.
  • Providing support to the Operations Teams in order to progress against the Sustainability Mission KPIs.
  • Develop and deliver internal training seminars to enable staff to understand Sustainability principles.
  • Provide specialist support to the bid factory for prequalification and tenders. From time to time this will include hands-on response writing.

 

Skills and experience

 

  • Experienced in developing and implementing sustainability strategies and programmes in a large organisation.
  • Technical knowledge on a broad range of social and environmental sustainability issues, including but not limited to, climate change, water, inclusion, human rights, social value, biodiversity and community/charitable activities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and a confident presenter.
  • Strategically minded, with good project management skills and the ability to analyse and scrutinise data.
  • Knowledge of sustainability trends, best practice and existing and upcoming legislation.
