SYSTRA are looking to expand our Signature Team in the UK, working on high profile infrastructure projects such as TRU and HS2, we are building on our 50 years of success in the UK by growing our team and looking for passionate people to deliver projects across our portfolio.

 

We are now seeking to strengthen and grow our Engineering team in our Birmingham office, by recruiting an experienced Technical Assurance Manager to lead our design assurance activities on our growing portfolio of projects and bids.

 

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a range of design assurance experience within the Design / Transportation / Infrastructure sectors.

Main Duties

 

Working in collaboration with our designers and contract partners, the Technical Assurance Manager will grow the capability of our Design Assurance function, lead on Assurance activities on key projects and bids, and continue to be involved in a variety of tasks such as:

 

  • Ensure that our designs are assured and comply with relevant requirements.
  • Manage Technical Assurance of permanent works design, ensuring that the design is assured including Requirements Management, Verification and Validation (V&V),  Technical Assumptions, Configuration Management and design quality.
  • Understand the Contract Requirements Technical (CRT) & monitor CRT changes
  • Liaise with wider design team to ensure consistency and quality of deliverables across all areas of the project.
  • Manage the production, review and issue of Technical Assurance Plans, Requirements Management Plans, and Configuration Management Plans and inputs to the Design Management Plan
  • Ensure appropriate ownership of Requirements and evidencing of compliance.  
  • Support design teams with identifying and obtaining Departures.
  • Manage the production, review and issue of Technical Assurance deliverables.
  • Training and development, mentoring of junior staff. 
  • Contributing to long term technical development of the function by application of new techniques, procedures and practices.
  • Assist and support the Practice Director where required
  • Integrate UK capability and resources with international technical networks. 

 

Experience

 

  • Degree qualified within a relevant discipline (e.g. Systems Engineering)
  • Experience in progressive design assurance ideally new build infrastructure projects;
  • Team leadership and development experience
  • Understanding the use of assumptions and quantifying risk during assurance process;
  • Ability to analyse assurance documents, capture the key parameters, input evidence and present to wider project.
  • Broad Systems Engineering experience gained on infrastructure projects
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Professional Institute membership or working towards
