An opportunity for developing environmental specialists to learn alongside the talented people that make up our Environmental Services Team. Providing assistants in the production of plans, reports, inspections and KPIs, essential to the delivery of the projects and business development needs.

  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the requirements and project disciplines relevant to the tasks
  • Provide appropriate input to the definition and development of our day to day operations, archiving, reporting, and recording systems for the Environmental Services Disciplines
  • Assist the Discipline Leads and senior members of the discipline in mobilising and delivering projects, and undertake coordination activities with the business development of new work streams under guidance
  • Attend key Project meetings internally, with the client and contractors and assisting in the production of minutes and learning from the interactions in a professional setting
  • Interrogate project wide performance as appropriate and assist in producing Project statistics for monthly reporting
  • Assist in carrying out site surveys where appropriate to again valuable site based experience, dependent on discipline and write up subsequent reports, ensuring where required, follow-up of  actions
  • Assist in developing innovative and effective digital solutions as part of the business innovation and digital agenda.
  • Be proactive in applying real life examples to the degree programme in line with the academic outputs and as part of rotation within the team – likely academic delivery programme is as follows
  • Produce and take responsibility for several the above items
  • Demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to improving SYSTRA Environmental Services  deliverables and outcomes.
  • Help monitor and implement all of the above with an array of project participants across multiple disciplines
  • Report any issues to your rotational Discipline Lead and Line Manager
  • Review and proactively volunteer ideas for improvement of the various process and tools to set up to carry out the above.
  • Work collaboratively with others to drive a digital agenda, promote innovation and share / implement best practice
  • Support development and implementation of the project platforms used for day to day management of the IMS as necessary
  • Support and actively contribute to success of the project’s as assigned
  • Proactively engage with Environmental Services teams and wider Design Teams to bring added value to the functionality of the team
  • Be responsible for your own Health and Safety


On-the-job training and assessment will be provided by a mixture of:

  • Work place shadowing
  • Mentoring via dedicated apprenticeship mentors
  • Periodic In house Training from internal or external resource
  • Self learning modules and assessments e.g. Health & safety tests


Off-the-job training will be provided by Coventry University.

You will achieve a BSc (Hons) Environmental Management qualification, if you pass all modules. You’ll study using Coventry University’s modern learning environment, and supported by our highly experienced tutors. You will have access to our comprehensive library and other fantastic student support services.
