SYSTRA are looking to expand our Signature Team in the UK, working on high profile infrastructure projects such as Crossrail and HS2, we are building on our 50 years of success in the UK by growing our team and looking for passionate people to deliver projects across our portfolio.

 

We are now seeking to strengthen and grow our Engineering team in our Birmingham office, initially working as part of our Main Works Civils High Speed 2 project team, by recruiting an Assistant Project Manager.

 

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a range of experience within the Civil Engineering/Transportation/Infrastructure sectors.

Main Function of Job

 

The Assistant Project Manager will be support the team in delivering and ensuring:

 

  • Assist the project management team with coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope
  • Timely issuing of performance reporting documents  
  • An organised approach to support record keeping and audits
  • Robust, Accurate Reporting both internally and externally
  • Good relationships are maintained with all external parties to enhance the reputation of the company

 

Main Duties

 

Working in collaboration with our management team, designers and contract partners, the Assistant Project Manager will be involved in a variety of tasks such as:

 

  • Co-located in the front office with the integrated project team (including client)
  • Assist in ensuring that design is delivered in line with the programme, reporting on critical path and key input/output milestones per design team
  • Assist in ensuring that design is delivered in line with the agreed budget, reviewing Work Package Management cost reporting data provided by the project controls team
  • Support management of change, risk and opportunities through monitoring the process led by the commercial team
  • Contribute to monthly internal and external progress and exception reporting up to Board level across all work packages
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Management team to track resources and the production model
  • Be a key part of the liaison between the Front Office and Back Office teams

 

Experience

 

  • Member of APM (Desirable)
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (Civil Engineering)
  • Member of the ICE (desirable)
  • Self-motivated, willing to learn individual with ambitious career plans
  • Numerate and well organised and able to work on your own initiative.
  • Understanding of multi-disciplinary co-ordination across major infrastructure projects and global design teams.
  • Development of innovative programming and reporting solutions
