SYSTRA are looking to expand our Signature Team in the UK, working on high profile infrastructure projects such as Crossrail and HS2, we are building on our 50 years of success in the UK by growing our team and looking for passionate people to deliver projects across our portfolio.

 

 

We are now seeking to strengthen and grow our Engineering team in our Birmingham office, initially working as part of our Main Works Civils High Speed 2 project team, by recruiting an experienced Assurance Engineer.

 

 

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a range of experience within the Civil Engineering/Transportation/Infrastructure sectors.

MAIN DUTIES

 

  • Support the Assurance Manager in the development and implementation of project Technical Assurance Plans  
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with project delivery teams, project leadership, clients, sub-contractors, regulatory bodies and other major stakeholders.
  • Implementation of the necessary Technical Assurance activities for client approval in accordance with the  Technical Assurance Plan.
  • Liaise with Requirements and Configuration Engineers in preparation of Single Assurance Pack submissions for client approval.
  • Review the quality and completeness of Single Assurance Packs including Task information deliverables plan, Configuration status report, Verification and validation matrix and Level 3 certificates.
  • Undertake assessment of readiness to proceed to interdisciplinary design reviews and project lifecycle stage gates.
  • Lead presentation of assurance packs for assurance acceptance panels.
  • Provide guidance to design and construction teams on what they have do to achieve HS2 Technical Assurance.
  • Contribute to the continued improvement of the technical assurance strategy, processes and systems, capturing lessons learnt.
  • Deliver technical assurance communications such as staff briefings and technical assurance awareness training etc.

 

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

 

  • Experience in Technical Assurance through the complete lifecycle of a project, ideally on a large infrastructure project;
  • Engineering background (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical/Systems)
  • Experience in railway systems engineering
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to problems solve and work flexibly.
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Familiar with various database tools
  • Professional Institute membership within a relevant field or working towards
  • Good information management and analytical skills.
