We are currently seeking to expand our rail operations team and a recruiting at the Consultant, Senior Consultant, Principal Consultant and Associate grades. These roles could be based in any of our Birmingham London, Leeds, York or Dublin offices and will be offered on a hybrid basis, with a split of office-based and home working. The successful candidate will be a rail operations specialist with a proven track record of delivering high-quality rail operations work for clients in the UK and/or Ireland.

They will support the development and growth in our key markets in the UK and Ireland by leading and undertaking work for clients such as Network Rail, the UK Department for Transport, Irish Rail Train Operating Companies/Owning Groups and local/metropolitan authorities. This will involve working closely with our team in the UK and Ireland to deliver high-quality work for clients, leading team on specific tasks and projects where appropriate. More senior candidates will also contribute to successful tenders for future work. Specific project and tender involvement will depend on the skills and experience of the candidate. The successful candidate will also collaborate on multi-disciplinary projects and tenders, working with colleagues across our business units.

For more experienced candidates the role will involve significant levels of client interaction, working with client representatives to agree the scope of work and timelines for delivery, and liaising regularly work process.

 

A selection of the following skills and experience will be required:

 

  • Operational performance modelling using RailSys, with capabilities to check infrastructure models against signalling plans, create traction data, build and deconflict timetables and output results
  • Timetable and rolling stock planning using industry standard tools, with a clear understanding of the Network Rail timetable planning process.
  • The ability to use Excel to manipulate multiple data sources for input to models and to interpret and present results from modelling
  • A keen understanding of performance data sources such as TRUST, TD feeds, Centrix and OTMR data
  • The ability to clearly present technical data in report format for consumption by non-technical readers
  • Demonstrable experience of working on a wide range of projects
