We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Principal E&P/MEP Engineer to join our engineering team in Birmimgham. This opportunity will be delivering E&P Engineering Design, CRE and leadership on significant new projects for SYSTRA and whilst based from the Birmingham office will have significant flexibility to work from home. This position within our MEP engineering team will suit a committed and ambitious MEP Principal Engineer who can demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills combined with commercial awareness and the ability to play their part in a dynamic high-performance team.

 

Main Duties:

 

The principal E&P engineer’s main duties will to be act as E&P/MEP Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) and or Lead Engineer on E&P/MEP projects allocated to them by the team leader and to be responsible for:

 

  • Ensuring projects are completed to meet all client’s requirements and applicable standards.
  • Ensuring projects are completed to the agreed project programme.
  • Ensuring projects are completed to the agreed budget.
  • Plan the project works and provide forward view resource forecasting to enable the team leader to allocate suitable resource to the projects.
  • Identify changes to the projects client requirements and raise the changes with the Systra Project Management Team.
  • Provide monthly cost to complete forecasts to the Systra Project Management Team.
  • The Principal E&P Engineer will be accountable for the design delivery of allocated E&P/MEP Projects.

 

Experience required:

 

  • This role requires considerable professional experience and expertise in order to manage complex or non-standard design solutions.
  • Have a good understanding of CSM/CDM regulations and requirements.
  • Good communication and presentation skills  for external presentations to clients.
  • Management of an E&P/MEP team of engineers on allocated projects
  • Carrying out and maintaining the E&P/MEP teams competence assessment framework
  • Maintaining good relationships with all external parties to enhance the reputation of the company.
  • Maintaining good relationships with principal engineers from other internal discipline teams to promote good inter-discipline working relationships and a “One Team” ethos.
