SYSTRA are looking to expand our Signature Team in the UK, working on high profile infrastructure projects such as Crossrail and HS2, we are building on our 50 years of success in the UK by growing our team and looking for passionate people to deliver projects across our portfolio.

We are now seeking to strengthen and grow our Engineering team in our Birmingham office, initially working as part of our Main Works Civils High Speed 2 project team, by recruiting an experienced Environmental Engineer.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a range of experience within the Civil Engineering/Transportation/Infrastructure sectors.

Main Duties:

 

  • Management of environmental specialists
  • Lead design production and excellence within the discipline team
  • Provide technical guidance to discipline design teams
  • Lead innovative solutions to environmental design problems
  • Accountable for the environment design team, recruitment, training and development of staff
  • Accountable for the allocation of work to designers including utilisation 
  • Integrate with international technical networks in the delivery of designs.
  • Lead technical delivery of design discipline production to agreed programme, budget and safety and quality specifications
  • Responsible for the delivery of CDM and design compliances 

 

Experience:

 

  • Degree in a relevant environmental subject
  • IEMA (MIEMA, Chartered Environmentalist) or equivalent professional engineering membership
  • Experience of working for private and public-sector developers and operators, on a range of development / infrastructure project consents.
  • An appreciation of a range of technical environmental matters.
  • Experience in developing scope of work for environmental studies.
  • knowledge and experience of the UK planning system and consents processes.
  • Experience of assembling Environmental Statements and reviewing specialist inputs.
  • Practical experience of working on all stages of Environmental Impact Assessment.
