We currently have an opportunity for a Project Technology (and Digital Service) Manager to join our Information Management team and can be located in any of our UK Engineering offices with York, Manchester and Birmingham as key sites. There will also be significant flexibility to balance this with working from home. The role is central to enabling the delivery of some of the most high-profile transport infrastructure projects in the UK, underpinning the ability of our engineering teams to deliver. The role is business critical in supporting the set up  and delivery of projects via the software we operate. 

 

Main Duties:

 

  • Lead a centralised team of project technology staff in organising and delivering technical application solutions
  • Coordinate and facilitate business wide project centric application of technologies, specifically providing specialist knowledge in Bentley and Autodesk platforms
  • Liaise and coordinate with the ICT team in the testing, configuration and deployment of project technology based applications and services
  • Ensure all upgrade and new technology is managed and communicated effectively, providing a cradle to grave service (Requirements definition, solution development, selection, testing, configuration, deployment, aftercare Training, briefing and technical support)
  • Develop a strategic dialogue with disciplines to assess future directions and project requirements, provide an understanding of the potential of new applications and processes and their implementation in the business to reflect industry needs and requirements
  • Complete and coordinate the application lifecycle validation process for technical solutions, work with ICT and designated users ensuring validation and appropriate deployment
  • Develop and maintain a network of industry contacts and involvement in external user groups to inform the business of industry trends
  • Develop and maintain a UK Protect Technology Strategy and advise on planned up-grades, usage, value and provide recommendations

 

Project Technology and digital services within the Project Technology remit include:

 

  • CDE and data/information management
  • Digital services including, BIM, 4D and 5D, visualization, collaboration, coordination, GIS
  • CAD production e.g. modelling and drawing
  • Technical design and analysis
  • Manage a centralised team of Project Technology specialists capable of supporting design packages, technical analysis and document management systems, including: CDE & ProjectWise Application Analyst and administrator & Project Technology Analyst 

 

Essential Experience:

 

  • Significant experience in project delivery from an infrastructure or engineering, project lead environment
  • Relevant degree or equivalent vocational qualifications
  • Proven experience in the adoption of technology to deliver complex projects, primarily using Bentley Systems platforms, applications and services
  • Team management and development experience
  • Experience of the application and management of design systems to deliver projects
  • A keen and acquisitive learner of project technology tools and techniques
  • A good communicator with a sensitive and a customer focused approach to project technology management and use
  • Experience successfully managing complex Project Technology projects
  • Ability to travel to client sites and other SYSTRA offices will be required
