SYSTRA Consultancy are hiring! Our thriving Transport Planning team is seeking a Principal Consultant to join our busy team in either Dublin or Birmingham. The role offers extensive flexibility to work from home whilst also being part of an innovative and supportive team delivering Transport Planning, Strategy and Feasibility on some of the UK & Ireland’s most high-profile sustainable travel projects.


This role would suit an individual who has proven experience in technical delivery and report writing, management of projects and leadership, who is looking for the next step in their career. Working closely with SYSTRA’s Transport Planning Sector Director you will play a key role in supporting work winning, developing and growing our Transport Planning offering with a growing focus on active travel including social media strategies.


You will help to deliver a wide range of project work for public sector clients as well as support our established Development Planning team with commercial clients. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an established team working across really diverse projects from research and feasibility stages through strategy to delivery including involvement with public engagement.

To be considered for this role, you should be degree qualified in a relevant subject (or equivalent) and hold membership of a professional body such as the IHT, TPS or CILT. A Masters degree in a relevant subject would be favourable but not essential. You should be able to provide evidence of your experience in the technical delivery and management of large Transport Planning projects. You should have previous experience of business development and growing teams as well as experience of line management / mentoring. Experience using SATURN would also be advantageous
