We are currently seeking an Experienced Principal/Associate Rail Engineer with a specialism in a specific discipline (e.g. track, civils) and an appreciation of the other main disciplines.

The role will be to form and develop our early-stage feasibility and concept design capability and market in Ireland working with colleagues across the business and reporting to our Business Director for Rail Advisory.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the efficient and effective delivery of the engineering components of multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring the needs of the client and the business are met.

The role will be based in our Dublin office but will involve working closely with colleagues in the UK generally, and potentially in support of UK projects (e.g. Transpennine Route upgrade, HS2) . 

The candidate will proactively contribute to the effective development of the team in Ireland  and implement  company policies and procedures whilst maximising all opportunities with clients. As a Chartered Engineer they will apply company procedures and systems to promote high levels of health, safety and wellbeing of staff and other stakeholders. They will also assist in safeguarding profitability through engagement with Project Managers and promote efficient engineering delivery based on a "right first time" principle. This is a line management role and the post-holder will be responsible for expanding the skill set of the team as well as contributing to furthering company ventures as they develop.


Skills and Experience 
A relevant degree in the Engineering space.

Membership of a relevant professional institution.

Professionally qualified Chartered or Incorporated Engineer

Ability in the application of safety standards, regulations and in the application and teaching of engineering design principles and standards.

Ability in the application and teaching of construction principles and standards including experience of project delivery in construction related markets.

Experienced working with contractors in a design and build environment.

Experienced within the rail sector and ability in the use of relevant Iarnrod Eireann (Irish Rail) procedures and standards.

Experience of contract conditions, processes and procedures.

Ability in programming, budgets and timescales

Experience of the transportation sector.

Experience of designing and checking engineering deliverables.

Team leadership and line management experience.

Understands the principles and application of early-stage engineering cost estimates

Experience in the use of computer analysis programmes.

Knowledge of UK CDM regulations and Network Rail procedures and standards.
