We are immediately hiring for an experienced Engineer to join our growing Development & Infrastructure Engineering Consultancy team in our Dublin office. This is a unique opportunity to join a busy and successful team working across traffic engineering and planning development, including extensive community engagement. The role will deliver and promote engineering design for the roll-out of various public and private sector projects including key local government focus initiatives such as the promotion of active travel in Ireland, expanding walking & cycling facilities.


The successful candidate will join a growing and vibrant team providing strong technical guidance whilst contributing to work-winning with both existing and new clients.

Responsibilities will include:


  • Prepare traffic impact assessments and mobility management plans as part of development planning applications
  • Assist in the development of transport strategies for national and local government
  • Develop and prepare concept, feasibility, and detailed designs for transportation and road schemes
  • To clearly specify information requirements to both clients and other team members, provide prompt responses and work with clients to understand objectives and outcomes of projects.
  • To communicate both written and verbally when responding positively to challenges and to challenge others constructively in participating to deliver the desired outcomes of a project.
  • To develop leadership skills by encourage involvement of, and take responsibility for outputs of, junior staff.
  • To participate in maintaining a positive team spirit by understanding team roles and team dynamics by sharing with others best practices.
  • To assist in the preparation and execution of project plans for a portfolio of projects and work packages, by applying appropriate design standards, identifying requirements for information gathering, providing clear and relevant interpretation of results.


To be successful in the role you will need:


  • A solid base of relevant engineering experience
  • Hold an honours degree (level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications) in Engineering
  • Working towards Chartered status with Engineers Ireland or equivalent
  • Proficient in traffic engineering and urban design using AutoCAD
  • Experience in preparation of transport inputs to development planning applications.
  • Demonstrable knowledge/usage of Highway design standards, DMURS and the National Cycle Manual
