The Role

 

SYSTRA are currently hiring for Alignment & Track Engineer to join their Track team in Faridabad office. The position requires leading the production of permanent way engineering designs, studies and reports for major railway infrastructure project of HS2.

 

The post-holder may also act as Track CRE, as directed on specific projects and lead projects, to ensure project budgets and programs are achieved. A strong technical knowledge is required, to provide guidance to other members of the Track Team and take an active role in maintaining and improving quality design processes. Ensuring safe design practices are adhered to and demonstrated within designs is essential.

 

Main Duties

 

  • Design/lead permanent way solutions for engineering projects in accordance with client requirements

  • Manage other members of the Track Team, undertake development reviews, provide mentorship to assist their development, and to enhance the skills within the Track Team to meet business objectives

  • Lead projects and provide task guidance and monitoring of performance

  • Act as design deliverables checker and Track CRE on specific projects, as directed by the Track Team Leader

  • Achieve the scope agreed with the Track Team Leader and Project Manager to effectively deliver projects to current engineering and safety standards

  • Provide project progress and performance reports to the Track Team Leader and Project Management Team

  • Undertake site track condition surveys and reports

  • Achieve personal and project targets including utilization, delivering projects to budget and programme

  • Promote and maintain good relationships with all internal and external parties to enhance the reputation of the Track Team and the company

 

Experience

 

  • HNC/HND or degree in a relevant engineering field (e.g., Civil Engineering, Railway Engineering, etc.)

  • Proficient at permanent way engineering alignment design and track components specification

  • Experience of 3 to 5 years is must

  • Skilled user of Bentley MicroStation, Bentley Rail Track and ClearRoute2

  • Detailed knowledge of multi-disciplinary issues associated with permanent way design

  • Detailed knowledge of construction principles and standards including RSSB Group Standards, Network Rail GRIP Process and Company Standards

  • Good knowledge of the application of safety standards including CDM and CSM-RA

  • CRM: Ability to build and maintain client relationships

  • Develops networks inside and outside the business, works in partnership across departments and divisional boundaries

  • Good presentation skills

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Computer literate, specifically Microsoft Office packages

  • A self-motivated team player with the ability to motivate others, to support the business

 

Desirable

 

  • Professional qualifications: Incorporated or Chartered engineer; membership of a professional body

  • Knowledge of track engineering contract conditions

  • Track condition survey and site construction experience

  • Knowledge of Track-Ex and dozer files production

  • Experience of team management, mentoring and development
