Main Function of Job

We currently have an opportunity for a Programme Manager to join our growing engineering team, based in Scotland. This position will suit a committed individual who can demonstrate interpersonal skills combined with technical and commercial awareness, and the ability to play their part in growing a dynamic, high performing team.

 

This is a key role to expand the engineering business in the UK by working with the Regional Programme Director and Market Directors to develop opportunities, lead and support tenders and deliver a multi-sector portfolio of work across the below key pillars.

You will have experience in building relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors, and translating their challenges into successful opportunities.  You will take ownership and responsibility for driving the day-to-day interaction with clients and stakeholders.  

 

As a Programme Manager you will be leading and delivering projects ensuring:

  • Coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope
  • Timely issuing of performance reporting documents 
  • An organised approach to support record keeping and audits.
  • Robust, Accurate Reporting both internally and externally
  • Good relationships are maintained with all external parties to enhance the reputation of the company.

As Programme Manager, you will be part of a growing team of UK professionals delivering projects for a diverse portfolio of UK clients. As such you will support the team in ensuring good relationships are maintained with all external parties to enhance the reputation of the company.

 

Main Duties

Working in collaboration with our sales team, management team, engineers and contract partners, the Programme Manager will be involved in a variety of tasks including:

 

  • Ensuring Project requirements are fully met.
  • Compliance with internal governance and relevant standards & legislation
  • Project forecast monitoring and communication regarding impacts
  • Project costs & invoicing control
  • Supervise project teams, cascade monthly safety brief to the project’s resources.
  • Liaise with Clients and Partners to ensure their requirements/constraints are effectively understood.
  • Participate in industry events to engage with new Clients and Partners
  • Identify opportunities for current projects and new business.
  • Support engineering bids preparation.

 

Educational Requirements

  • Chartered Project Manager (desirable)
  • Member of APM (required)
  • Chartered Engineer (desirable)

 

 

Experience and Skills

Essential

  • Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships with clients.
  • Experience of delivering multi-discipline infrastructure projects to both public and private sector clients as a Tier One or Tier Two supplier
  • Knowledge of one or more of the market sector clients (e.g. Network Rail/National Highways/National Grid/Nuclear/Water Sector) structure, strategy, challenges, and future investment plans
  • Commercial awareness in an infrastructure delivery context
  • Experience of bid preparation in the engineering/design/delivery services context
  • Understanding of Design, Construction and Testing & Commissioning processes
  • Understanding of CDM Regulations

 

Desirable

  • Experience in working with international colleagues of different technical cultures.
  • Development of innovative programming and reporting solutions
  • Understanding of multi-disciplinary and global engineering teams’ co-ordination across major infrastructure projects
  • Good command of written and spoken French
