Quantity Surveyor (Rail Systems)

Systra, world leading transport engineering company for urban and rail projects, has been awarded the Project Implementation Consultancy for the Hanoi Pilot Metro Line (Nhon – Hanoi Railway Station) by the Hanoi Metropolitan Rail Transport Project Board. Under this contract, Systra is in charge of the design of the metro line, the assistance for tendering process, supervision of the construction and installation and assistance for the project management.

In order to carry out this mission efficiently, Systra is looking for a professional, committed and competent staff who can fill the following position for its Hanoi based project office.       

 

Job title:     Quantity Surveyor (Rail Systems)

 

Main responsibilities will be to:

  • Interface with the Contracts Manager, Cost Control Manager and technical project team members to collect Contracts, Commercial and technical information having impact on:
    • Variations, and
    • Claims.
  • Participate in cost estimation:
    • Review and evaluation of variation requests, value engineering and claims;
    • Preparation of applications and valuations
  • Participate in claims management:
    • Perform independent claims review and preferably with ability to conduct CPM schedule delay analysis
    • Analysis of facts and evidence including records and notices
    • Preparation, negotiation and presentation of quantum, delay and disruption claims
    • Advise team on claims strategy, making recommendations on how our claims specific objectives can be achieved

Requirements:

  • Appropriate university degree;
  • Desirable total experience of 10 years of which 5 years’ experience as Quantity Surveyor (QS)
  • Experience of working on major infrastructure construction projects, preferably Metro and/or Rail projects
  • Experience in Rail Systems such as: Signalling, Telecommunications (SCADA, CCTV, Radio, Access Control System, etc.), Power Supply and Traction Power, Depot Equipment, Rolling Stock, Automatic Fare Collection (AFC), Tunnel Ventilation, Trackwork, MEP, etc
  • Experience with Lump Sum and re-measurable FIDIC Contracts
  • Knowledge of Planning and Primavera P6 software
  • Experience in measurement and cost estimation
  • Good English communication both written and spoken
  • Able to performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
