Overall responsibilities

The Deputy BIM Manager is responsible for leading, under the guidance of the BIM Manager, the BIM processes and coordinate with engineers and technicians in the development of a BIM projects. They establish standards and procedures for the development of BIM models, and ensure the conformity and compatibility of the models and the data they contain.

Role and responsibilities

  • Oversee with BIM Manager the application of BIM processes, within the framework of multidisciplinary projects and participate in their improvement.
  • Facilitate the development of BIM models, coordinating with technicians and engineers.
  • Assists multidisciplinary coordination of the models.
  • Monitor, federate and coordinate project designs and construction sequence interfaces.
  • Support the development of BIM software, and seek solutions to issues.
  • Ensure the compatibility and consistency of data in BIM models and the availability of this to all project stakeholders.
  • Promote the development and advancement of BIM capabilities within the company, and maintain a BIM project development manual with current procedures and practices.
  • Oversee the implementation of effective, value for money and innovative design solutions to meet technical and project requirements with the BIM Manager.
  • Work with the rest of the design team to ensure designs are coordinated interfaced across projects and disciplines.
  • Produce models/drawings where required from existing data or produce such data in accordance with project requirements.
  • Other related tasks.

Qualifications

Education: Degree in a related field (Architecture, Technology, Construction Management, etc.)

Years of experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in BIM design and BIM work environment implementation.

Technical competencies:

  • Experience in project delivery from an infrastructure or engineering, project lead environment.
  • Proven experience in the adoption of technology to deliver complex projects.
  • Experience of the application and management of design systems to deliver projects.
  • ISO 19650 knowledge.
