We are now seeking to strengthen and grow our Engineering team in London, by recruiting an experienced Information Manager.


The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a range of experience within the Civil Engineering/Transportation/Infrastructure sectors.

The role

The Information Manager (IM) is accountable for the provision of all aspects of Project Information Management (IM) throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring interface between systems, and stakeholders, adherence to processes in the management of information and acting as the link to corporate support for system infrastructure.


Reporting to the Project Quality Completion and Hand Over manager, the role of the PIM is to act as the Information Management Process Owner for the Project and to ensure that all information assets are managed in accordance with documented policies, standards and procedures. The IM is also responsible for the stewardship and leadership of all IM group disciplines deployed on the Project, specifically, data delivery, document delivery, Application and IT Delivery and project communications.


In addition to this, the PIM will represent and act as the primary interface to Global IT, Engineering Systems and the Corporate IM function.


Main duties

  • Develop, evolve, communicate and implement a Project Information Management (IMP) Plan, in alignment with the Project IM standards and all Project stakeholder objectives.
  • Develop the above strategy into a comprehensive Information Management Plan [IMP] which responds to the Employers Information Requirements [EIR] and also incorporates the BIM Execution Plan BEP [ PAS1192 sections], DMP, DCMP, QMP & TAP if required.
  • Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and potentially systems, to meet the IM objectives for the Project.
  • Ensure IM delivery is aligned with Project targets/ milestones.
  • Develop and execute a Project IM implementation plan and budget across all Project phases.
  • Develop and maintain Project IM organisational structure and staffing plan.
  • Establish the required, standards and specifications to govern the Project IM systems and processes.
  • Ensure that IM learning and best practices are captured and shared utilising organisational learning systems.
  • Coordinating and taking a central role in developing Project’s Information and Knowledge Management (KM) strategy.
  • Day to day management of the Project IM Group disciplines (Document Management, Data Management, Business Applications, and Project Communications).
  • Coordination of Projects focus on KM.
  • Identify and develop IM Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and metrics for Project.
  • To ensure deployment of appropriate IM processes, procedures and systems/ tools within the Project.
  • To facilitate all IM interfaces with Client (including corporate and project specific representatives), Joint Venture (JV) Partners or Co-contractors, Contractors, Sub-contractors, Suppliers and any other third-party organisations participating on the Project.
  • Provide Project IM Group leadership (including; safety; communication; performance; objective setting and measurement; improvement management; customer feedback; progress and status reporting).
  • To facilitate IM resource management through all Project phases (including; recruitment, time-writing, performance, overtime, absence).
  • Represent and act as the primary interface for IT, Facilities Management, and Engineering Systems on the Project.
  • Take necessary care to properly protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of corporate information from unauthorised disclosure, modification or destruction.  Never knowingly put project information or information systems at risk




  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred; specific and relevant industry certification(s) in discipline or demonstrated current experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
  • Primavera P6
  • Common Data Environments, preferable ProjectWise knowledge
  • EDMS systems, preferably BC and eB
  • BIM working methodologies
  • Experience of Information Management within large complex environments within the construction and engineering industry
