SYSTRA are looking to expand our Signature Team in the UK, working on high profile infrastructure projects such as Crossrail and HS2, we are building on our 50 years of success in the UK by growing our team and looking for passionate people to deliver projects across our portfolio.


We are now seeking to strengthen and grow our Engineering team, initially working as part of our Old Oak Common High Speed 2 project team, by recruiting an experienced Digital Interface Manager.


The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a range of experience within the Civil Engineering/Transportation/Infrastructure sectors.

As part of the interface management team, the role will monitor and coordinate digital interfaces for temporary works designs and construction works layouts, resolve spatial and chronological coordination issues, identify clashes, produce drawings and feed into and help produce 4D Synchro simulations.




As a Digital Interface Manager, you will be accountable for:


  • Monitor and coordinate temporary works designs and construction sequence interfaces, working with the supply chain, project partners (Network Rail) and third parties (Other HS2 contractors, adjacent railway depots) in the project 3D environment to resolve spatial and chronology coordination issues.
  • Review and coordinate BIM data from designers, BBVS subcontractors and third parties in particular for temporary works and temporary & permanent utilities. Manage supply chain compliance and assurance verification of these deliverables.
  • Review and develop the construction sequence and ensure coordination of corresponding temporary works designs when interfaces exist between BBVS and other contractors or between different subcontractors in conjunction with the project 4D team.
  • Coordinate, manage and produce construction site layouts. Liaise with Logistics, Construction, Project Controls and BIM team to ensure all stakeholders’ requirements are considered to support construction sequencing.
  • Review and coordinate construction site boundaries CAD Models/drawings in liaison with Environmental team and in consideration of site boundary reporting requirements e.g. GIS.
  • Produce models/drawings where required from existing data or produce such data in accordance with project requirements.
  • Feed into and help produce 4D Synchro simulations from project data to facilitate discussions, in liaison with the project 4D team.
  • Check and publish subcontractor iModels for internal use by project team.
  • Manage change control procedures related to the above data.
  • Escalate unresolved coordination issues to the Methods Manager and Critical Interface Director where required.
  • Keep the package managers and design teams updated with agreed resolutions and progress of ongoing resolution.
  • Promote and incorporate Health & Safety in all proposals developed.
  • Input for IDC/IDR for buildability (when required)
  • Input for tender stages (when required)
  • Support the buildability reports (when required)




  • Degree qualified within a relevant discipline or qualified by experience with an understanding and proven delivery of infrastructure or building managing multiple processes / schemes.
  • Experience in temporary works
  • Ability to understand what is being drawn and be able to interrogate clashes / information & inform Methods Manager
  • Experience in design review process, model management, lead BIM clash detection meeting and manage results to resolution
  • Experience working with planners to provide 4D programme and logistic outputs on live projects
  • Experience in supply chain digital deliverables compliance verification
  • Strong technical ability in 3D modelling with Bentley Microstation, AECOsim Building Designer, Open Building Designer applications
  • Experience in using ProjectWise & managing data within the CDE 
  • Familiarity with geodetic coordinates systems such as OSGB36 and Snakegrid.
  • Good communication skills with an ability to form effective relationships with partners under time pressure
  • Experience of working collaboratively in either a consultant or contractor environment
  • Ability to form effective relationships with the project team, supply chain partners and clients under time pressure 


Desirable skills


  • Experience with construction site layouts will be appreciated
  • Ability to transform data between geodetic coordinate systems such as OSGB36 and Snakegrid using FME or similar
  • Willingness to do additional elements such as learning 4D Bentley Synchro with the models they have produced to support the 4D team
  • Familiarity with the iModel Hub federated portal and the publishing of iModels
  • Familiarity with Bentley swept path analysis software
