We are now seeking to strengthen and grow our Engineering team in London, by recruiting an experienced Survey Manager.

 

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a range of experience within the Civil Engineering/Transportation/Infrastructure sectors.

The role

 

Project technical lead for Survey, responsible for establishing the project wide strategy for primary control and survey validation as required to comply with client requirements and ensure the required levels of accuracy can be achieved by the work package subcontractors. To support the project team, supply chain and others to manage documentation and implement the systems to ensure information is adequately controlled and shared with respect to surveying data. 

 

Main Duties

 

  • The candidate should be experienced in delivery-focused surveys, specialising in topographical
  • Surveying for complex multidisciplinary rail projects.
  • Highly skilled in rail and highways surveying, measured building surveys, embankment, and cuttings.
  • Experienced in geodetic control and data reprojection.
  • A focused safety mentor and responsible for the delivery of CDM and design compliances
  • Expert technical knowledge and QSSE managerial skills, to deliver survey solutions that align to quality standards and across of a wide range of surveying environments and infrastructures.
  • Team management experience.
  • Technical authoring and auditing of survey reports.
  • Supply chain management experience. Supervise and audit the Survey subcontractors for compliance.
  • KPI and dashboard report generation preferably with a knowledge of PowerBi.
  • The use of Common Data Environments and GIS systems knowledge.
  • Experienced in asset management and asset identification technologies.
  • Client team facing experience.
  • Principal focus on specifying, procuring and managing surveys and/or systems.
  • Lead design integration of production and excellence across discipline teams.
  • Provide technical guidance to discipline design teams.
  • Perform checks on survey control Horizontal and Vertical
  • Ensure lost survey control points are replaced in good time
  • Analyse survey control information / measurements
  • Lead innovative solutions to design problems with surveying techniques.
  • Accountable for the recruitment and develop and manage an in-house survey team (Surveyor + Apprentice + Equipment)
  • Training and development of staff awareness presentations.
  • Accountable for the allocation of work to designers and subcontractors including utilisation.
  • Lead technical delivery of design discipline production to agreed programme, budget and safety and quality specifications

 

Experience and Qualifications

 

  • Experience in survey management role on delivery of large multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects, including topographical survey methodologies with total stations, 3D laser scanner, LiDAR, and GNSS instrumentation.
  • People management skills and strong communicator to collaborate effectively with the wider project team including Clients, Third Parties, Subcontractors and Contract Managers.
  • Competent on MS Office, AutoCAD, Microstation, ProjectWise
  • BIM working methodologies and model federation
  • Snakegrid and geodetic grid transformations
  • Point cloud management and conversion
  • Competent user of Document Management Systems (such as BC, eB and SharePoint)
  • Hold Chartership in Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors
  • Personal Track Safety
  • Industry Common Induction - London Underground
  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme
