SYSTRA Canada's Transit Division is an active participant in Canadian and international projects in the fields of rail and urban transport (subways, tramways, and electric buses).


Reporting to the BIM Manager, the BIM Modeler supports the Transit division by developing BIM models for its perimeter. He contributes to the achievement of the project's BIM objectives, uses, and participates in the continuous enrichment of the digital model. The perimeter of the mission covers the design modeling of the Systems disciplines of transportation infrastructure (electrical, telecommunications, centralized control systems and train control, platform doors, rolling stock...) and ensures the BIM coordination of the Systems models.


Specific Responsibilities:

  • Develop BIM models for the Systems domain (electrical systems, telecommunications, centralized control systems and train control, platform doors, rolling stock, etc.);
  • Create and manage the libraries of BIM objects in the Systems domain;
  • Ensure the BIM coordination of the System models in collaboration with the other teams and disciplines of the project (Architecture, Structure, MEP, Infrastructure, Traffic & City...).
  • In collaboration with the Technical Coordination team, maintain records of conflicts between BIM Systems models and other disciplines, and participate in their resolution;
  • Perform the "space proofing" of the BIM Systems;
  • Extract 2D drawings if necessary, from BIM models;
  • Implement the necessary data to establish quantity takeoffs and schedules from the BIM;
  • Implement the data required for the management of assets in the BIM mock-ups for the systems;
  • All other related tasks.


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in one or more of the following technical areas of the building industry: Electrical, mechanical, plumbing, low voltage and telecommunications;
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in BIM design
  • Experience in linear works, an asset;
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team and in a Web-based work environment such as BIM360, an asset;
  • Mastery of Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Navisworks Manage tools;
  • Proficient in French (spoken, read, and written);
  • Proficient in English (spoken, read, and written), an asset;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Ability to plan and organize one’s work;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Methodical, rigorous, and proactive.
