We currently have an opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our growing team in Manchester. The role will primarily manage Systra UK regional inter-company accounting and will work closely with the wider finance and projects team by maintaining accurate data, schedules, analysis, and ensuring systems are updated in a timely and accurate manner. The role will report to the financial controller and provide support with ad hoc month-end and day to day activities.

 

Main Duties 

Manage inter-company month end process ensuring:

  • the Group inter-company deadlines are adhered to,
  • all inter-company transactions are recorded and reconciled,
  • timely preparation of statements and inter-company invoicing,
  • liaison with inter-company stakeholders and projects control team,
  • investigation and resolution of transactions and balances queries.

 

  • Assist with the production of monthly financial reporting and supporting information:
  • preparation of projects costs to date analysis for major projects,
  • preparation and posting of journals (project accruals, …),
  • support the team with the preparation of monthly Business Units P&L,
  • support the team with the preparation and reconciliation of balance sheet control accounts.

 

  • Review of inter-company balance sheet accounts including:
  • manage the post month-end inter-company activities,
  • manage the inter-company recharges,
  • ensure aged balances are reviewed and overdue balances are dealt with in timely manner.
  • Provide support to AR and AP teams with inter-company matters.

 

 

Experience Required

  • AAT qualified or ACCA/CIMA part qualified
  • Minimum 3 years in Finance Department or Financial Control department ideally from an engineering environment and/or project centric organization
  • Excellent communication skills across a variety of audiences and ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to perform complex analysis and reconciliations
  • Strong understanding of system functionality, master data setup and best practice
  • Strong IT skills including advanced Excel, Microsoft and experience using ERP System ideally IFS
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and a commitment to meet tight deadlines
