An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join SYSTRA on a 12 month fixed term contract, this position would suit a confident Finance Business Partner, who is able to provide structured support from day one. SYSTRA have fully embraced new methods of working, so the successful candidate will be able to take full advantage of our hybrid working arrangements, balancing time at home with time in one of our modern and well-equipped offices where necessary. This position could be taken with our Manchester, York or Leeds office as a home base.


Main Duties


  • Ensuring project reviews are updated
  • Preparation of MI to support with month end process and reporting cycles
  • Review of sector overheads
  • Understanding of project variances – volume and margin %
  • Day 6 accounts presentation and review – with Senior Management

Attend Major Project reviews – provide challenge on margin, cashflow etc as required

Review of WIP and debt with key stakeholders – Project Management, Commercial Management and create plan for recovery where required

Work with Commercial teams on costs plus contract support – support client audits/ annual rates reviews

Support with quarterly forecast and annual budget cycles

Support annual external audit and any internal audits


Business System Support


  • IFS10 knowledge share with Consulting Community – work with key stakeholders to identify needs and work through a programme.
  • Develop knowledge of IFS10 architecture and process with help of IFS System Architect
  • IFS10 Problem solving
  • Understand the roadmap for improvements with IFS System architect – interface with UK Cons Leadership team to develop a plan


Experience Required


Qualified accountant – CIMA/ACA/ACCA

Experience in Transport Consultancy desirable, ideally within an international group

Systems literate – experience with ERP systems and systems implementation (preferably IFS experience)

Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with attention to detail and levels of accuracy

Commercial outlook with ability to communicate clearly with non-financial staff, good communication and presentation skills essential

Strong excel and presentation skills
