Main Function of Job

Reporting to the ICT Service Delivery Manager, the main role of this post is to assist in the day to day operation of the various computers and ancillary devices across all SYSTRA’s offices, frequent visits will be required, sometimes at short notice.

 

Main Duties

  • The role will be 90% office-based.
  • First-line support to end-users covering Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, software installation
  • Daily checks on office IT equipment. Requirement to start in the morning at 08:30h to provide support to staff.
  • Travel to other offices within UK/IR to provide support and undertake regular checks
  • Administration of virtual and physical servers
  • Administration of Active Directory
  • Fixing and administering peripherals including printers, scanners, voice headsets
  • Training end users in new technology
  • Imaging new PCs, laptops, servers, tablets

 

Educational Requirements

  • Relevant higher-level qualification in an IT-related subject

 

Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Working as part of an ICT administration team

 

Skills

Essential

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows administration
  • Excellent knowledge of ICT Helpdesk procedures
  • Good understanding of databases and modern web-based technologies
  • Ability to solve problems logically and work methodically
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Excellent oral communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience of Virtual Machine management
  • Experience with BackupExec software
  • Experience of Microsoft 365 back-end administration
  • Experience of network configuration & security
