SYSTRA Canada is currently looking for buyers with experience in a project setting to join the procurement team in the Rolling Stock division.


Description of main responsibilities:


  • Lead/support requests for proposal (RFP).
  • Lead/support supplier negotiations.
  • Creation of purchase orders (PO) and schedule agreements (SA).
  • Dispatching of purchase orders to the suppliers.
  • Rescheduling of POs/SAs according to master production schedule (MPS).
  • Support in the resolution of PO related invoice issue(s).
  • Resolve administrative issues related to PO (1st level of escalation).
  • Monitor supplier performance/key performance indicators including actions and mitigations




  • University or college degree in Business, Commerce or related field.
  • At least 3 or 4 years working experience as a buyer or purchaser.
  • Relevant experience in the railway, automotive or aerospace industry is an asset.
  • Self-starter and capable of prioritizing in a multitasking environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience negotiating with suppliers is a must.
  • Material planning experience is an asset.
  • Relevant experience in an enterprise resource planning (ERP) environment is expected.
  • Working knowledge in MS Office, SAP ERP.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and French.
  • Valid driver’s license is an asset.
