Environmental Studies Specialist (Infrastructure)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide environmental expertise (community and/or biological) within a multidisciplinary team;
  • Analyse environmental impacts and compensatory measures of railway projects;
  • Contribute to the development of business opportunities;
  • Lead environmental studies and coordinate efforts in the following areas:
    • Impact on communities;
    • Impact on wildlife;
    • Establishing inventory requirements;
    • Establishing consultation needs and stakeholder management.
  • Preparation for and participation in the hearings of the Bureau d'audiences publiques sur l'environnement (BAPE);
  • Participation in Systra Group's environmental and sustainable development meetings and activities and promotion of the environment at Systra Canada.


Personal and other qualifications:

  • Master's degree in environment, social sciences or related field;
  • Minimum 15 years experience in similar positions;
  • Significant experience in transportation infrastructure projects;
  • Significant experience in environmental impact studies and with the BAPE;
  • Knowledge of the various federal and provincial regulatory frameworks;
  • Autonomy and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team;
  • Good stress management, organization and thoroughness;
  • Fluency in French and English, spoken, read and written.
