Job Purpose

The Test Engineer is responsible for reviewing requirements and design for testability and for verifying that the products fulfil their functional and performance requirements by test. The Test Engineer is also responsible for creating and maintaining test environments which can simulate various types of inputs to passenger cars systems and check for appropriate system responses.


Key Job Elements

  • Assist the project manager in creating a test plan.
  • Identify the test activities that shall be performed in order to adequately verify the product and the optimal sequence in which those activities should be performed.
  • Test or develop systems for use in safety critical applications.
  • Review system requirements and design for testability.
  • Develop test environments for new products and maintain existing test equipment.
  • Create test cases to verify requirements and simulate operational scenarios.
  • Execute the system tests and document the results.
  • Report product defects and propose corrective measures.
  • Participate in quality and safety improvement.


Education / Training

  • Bachelor’s in mechanical or Electrical Engineering.


Qualifications and Experience

Candidate must have a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.

5 years of experience in test and commissioning activities of newly manufactured/refurbished passenger cars.

 Familiarity with test techniques recommended by the railway safety standards.

Strong English and French language skills (written and verbal).

Ability to define problems; collect and document data.

Ability to multitask is a must.

Follow all safety procedures.

Must be a team player and solution provider.

Flexible work schedule.

Availability to travel as required.
