GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The CBTC Testing & Commissioning Manager will lead the testing activities, supporting the Client and supervising the contractors and suppliers as required, the CBTC T&C Manager has significant experience in leading software validation, system integration testing on safety-critical real-time systems both on site and in factory/lab. He/she shall ensure that the deployment activities of CBTC program/project are executed smoothly taking into considerations the project constraints (planning, construction sequence, site constraints, environmental conditions, site accesses, best practices, QA/QC process, HSE) issued by the Client. 

 

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Serve as the lead person for CBTC testing and commissioning matters on assigned projects, reporting to the Project Manager

2. Organize, plan, manage, supervise and report on all aspects of testing & commissioning activities ensuring that testing & commissioning activities are properly planned, reviewing T&C plan and testing procedures, supporting testing from FAT to SAT.

3. Support our Client to develop the necessary tools and processes and coordinate the testing and commissioning activities for the delivery of CBTC projects by the contractors

4. Manage/support workload and resource allocation, staffing process, assessment of resources needs, budget follow-up for T&C activities in collaboration with the PM

5. Coordinate T&C activities for the Client of the contractors in lab and in field through the different stages of the project

6. Enforce QA/QC policies for his assigned scope of work and identify possible quality and safety issues within the scope of the project in order to fulfill project-related contractual requirements.

7. Work with other team members or, as individual researcher and consultant, may be assisted on individual projects by other engineers and technicians.

8. Participate in developing proposals, including technical design and cost estimates and participate in client presentations to secure new work.

9. Share resources and intelligence with SYSTRA, S.A. partner to facilitate synergy and new project and market development worldwide.

10. Actively maintain proficiency and develop knowledge in areas of expertise.

11. Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally to all SYSTRA office locations, including project offices, and contractors and suppliers’ offices and factories, if applicable

Organizational relationships:

1. Accountable for all phases of activities to the Project Manager of project assigned and to Systems Sector Leader

2. Consults and coordinates with:

  • All employees assigned to the sector and other disciplines as required.
  • Other Systems Engineers and Managers to coordinate multi-discipline projects and exchange intelligence about clients and competitors.
  • Peer level employees of clients, teaming partners, competitors, SYSTRA, S.A. and its subsidiaries, vendors, brokers, and others as may be required to conduct the company’s business.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE: 

1. A minimum of 10 years in a similar position with a proven experience in the coordination of Test and Commissioning activities of CBTC projects

2. AREMA, CENELEC and IEC standards and testing

3. Conceptual or prototype system level functional testing

4. Hardware design qualification testing

5. Software design qualification testing

6. Integration (HW+SW) qualification testing

7. Type/Environmental testing; i.e. temperature, shock and vibration, EMI/EMC, water intrusion, electrical isolation, creepage/clearance

8. Field testing; static, dynamic and qualification

9. Good Communications and interpersonal skills. Facilitator but able to stand its position in front of stakeholders.

 

EDUCATION & LICENSES

1. BS or MS in relevant Engineering field

2. PE License in relevant state (mainly NY; CA) - desirable

3. CCM Certification - desirable

4. CSEP, CISSP, CCNA, SSCP, or other applicable certifications - desirable
