Deputy Project Manager- T&C Lead

SYSTRA Consulting, Inc. seeks Deputy Project Manager- T&C Lead in New York, NY.

Duties: Represents SYSTRA in front of the clients: Technical point of contact for our clients; Contractual assistance to our clients. Leads integrated project teams including specialists of all areas: Contractual; Schedule and planning; Technical expertise; Safety; Quality. Leads integration activities: Manages design teams and document reviews; Coordinates design and integration between technical fields; Coordinates testing and commissioning activities of the contractors in lab and in field through the different stages of the project; Ensures consistency of the project management activities from a technical and contractual perspective. Designs and analyzes high-level specifications for rail signaling systems (Subway, Commuter Lines). Designs and analyzes high-level specifications for alteration or modification of existing rail signaling systems to improve safety or function (Subway, Commuter Lines). Checks systems design or cost estimations to ensure completeness, accuracy, or conformity to engineering standards or practices. Estimates rail signaling systems project costs. Confers with agency suppliers to discuss plans, specifications and project execution. Assists the client in project management: Chairs technical meetings with the clients contractors; Monitors and reports delay, technical and quality issues to the client; Provides the client with estimates for suppliers work; Supports the client during negotiations for additional work and claims. Establish budgets and schedules, follow up projects. Manages workload and resource allocation. Drives hiring and staffing process for his projects: Identifies need for new resources; Manages customer resources approval. Manages customer invoicing. Deals with changes of scope, cost and schedule of project works. Leads internal project performance review meetings and discussions. Participates in corporate business development activities. Accounts for SYSTRA performance and development. Job titles of reports can include: Sr. System Designer, Field Testing Inspector, Field Inspector.

 

Requires a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related plus 15 years of experience. Requires 10 years of experience with digital signaling and railway systems projects. Requires experience with project management. Requires experience with metro and CBTC. Requires experience working with CBTC major suppliers including delivery of a CBTC project. Requires experience deployment phase with a railway operator, including design and/or construction and/or testing and commissioning and/or operation phases. Requires experience as a consultant in the railway industry. Requires experience with railway safety concepts.
