SYSTRA is seeking a Sr. Signals Engineer, full time permanent position located in New York City.


-Manage assigned project work including scope, schedule, and budget and provide timely, quality milestone reporting.

-Plan and design transportation systems and structures, following construction, client, federal, state, and local standards and laws, using design software and drawing tools.

-Analyze and review the design and construction requirements to ensure match with customers' specifications.

-Follow QA/QC policies and practices and Identify possible quality and safety issues within the scope of the project.

-May serve as lead technical advisor or limited projects.

  1. Technical Responsibilities:
  1. Develop signal circuit designs, including automatic train control systems, vital microprocessor and relay-based interlockings, block signal systems, and highway crossing warning systems.
  2. Design signal circuit drawing typicals.
  3. Work on control center designs.
  4. Review project specifications and drawings.
  5. Assist with writing factory and field-test procedures.
  6. Participate in testing and commissioning activities during factory and field-testing.
  7. Investigate failures with signal circuit designs.
  8. Identify possible safety issues within the scope of the project.


  1. BS in Electrical Engineering or other related field, or ten years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  2. Minimum of ten years’ relevant experience in railroad signal design
  3. P.E. License preferable - New York
