We are currently growing our high performing Development & Infrastructure Engineering Consultancy team with the addition of an experienced Engineer that could be based at our Newcastle, Birmingham, Manchester or London offices. This is a great opportunity to join a busy and successful team working cross-functionally and in collaboration with wider teams across traffic engineering and planning development, including extensive community engagement. 


The successful candidate will join a growing and vibrant team providing strong technical guidance whilst contributing to work-winning with both existing and new clients.


Main Duties:


  • The primary role of a Senior Consultant/Engineer is to win and deliver projects safely in accordance with the divisional controls for bidding and revenue and margin delivery on projects.
  • To clearly specify information requirements to both Clients, Professional Partners and other Team members, provide prompt responses and work with Clients to understand objectives and outcomes of Projects.
  • To communicate both written and verbally when responding positively to challenges and to challenge others constructively in participating to deliver the desired outcomes of a Project.
  • To develop leadership skills by encourage involvement of, and take responsibility for outputs of, junior staff.
  • To participate in maintaining a positive team spirit by understanding team roles and team dynamics by sharing with others best practices.
  • To assist in the preparation and execution of project plans for a portfolio of projects and work packages, by applying appropriate design standards, identifying requirements for information gathering, providing clear and relevant interpretation of results whilst applying with CDM2015 Regulations.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of our solution in meeting the client’s evaluation criteria 
  • Ensure successful project delivery to time, cost, quality and other contractual requirements 


Experience Required:


  • Degree in Civil Engineering – BEng
  • Working towards Membership of Institution of Civil Engineers or Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation.
  • Significant post-graduation engineering experience working for a Design Consultancy.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Proficient in Highway Design using preferably Civils 3D, but experience with PDS or MicroStation will be considered.
  • A knowledge of Micro-Drainage would beneficial.
  • Demonstrable knowledge/usage of Highway design standards.
  • Client Contact (preferable)
