Work Description

Position Description:

In this role you will utilize your robust, design to delivery project management experience leading CBTC - Communications Based Train Control integration within an existing vehicle.


Your outstanding collaboration skills will enable you to seamlessly work with multiple teams and stakeholders, often with competing priorities, to understand trade-offs when features cross multiple owners in different organizations.


To deliver the best over-all outcomes, your ability to clearly articulate project goals and strategy while leading with influence versus authority will be essential.


  1. Lead multiple working groups including:
    1. CBTC Onboard (Hitachi)
    2. Vehicle Modification (Alstom)
  2. Lead BART Vehicle System Integration team for CBTC Integration to the BART revenue vehicle.
    1. Analyze the technical propositions proposed by HITACHI and Alstom in term of mechanical, Electrical and network interfaces
    2. Determine possible solutions in the best interest of BART, if necessary
    3. Define OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) and establish and execute on plans for improving KRs
    4. Identify technical risks of the project
    5. Identify deviations to requirements
  3. Define and develop strategy for resolving any conflicts that arise between BART, Hitachi, and Alstom.
  4. Management:
    1. People Management – Workload distribution, Task assignment, Task prioritization.
    2. Problems arbitration – To the team 
    3. Relationship Hitachi, Alstom, RS&S – Stakeholder management
    4. Transversal topic (garbage bin) – Addressing miscellaneous topics
    5. Change Notice/ Change Order          
    6. Schedule/ Progress monitoring
    7. Planning/ Resources, hours, overtime
    8. Risks – Risk register with Paul
  5. Lead the team to develop roadmap for Integration Strategy
  6. Interface with HITACHI, Alstom, and BART stakeholder to identify technical options, costs and risks and establish priorities
  7. Participating design, Installation, testing and commissioning phases
  8. Support the review of documentation as it relates to the following design areas for BART CBTC project
  9. Support the review of documentation as it relates to the following design areas for BART CBTC project
  10. Support CM team in making Commercial strategy
  11. Support CM team for estimating cost for a change order





  1. 15 + years of experience on metro projects
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience of successfully leading CBTC projects with cross-company and/or cross-industry stakeholders
  3. Experience in people management
  4. Familiar with international and multicultural projects
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
