Mission:

SYSTRA Canada's Transit division is involved in Canadian and international projects in the fields of rail (conventional or high-speed trains) and urban transportation (metros, trams and electric buses).

SYSTRA Canada recently secured a project in Ottawa to build a Light Rail System and is looking for a System Integration Manager who will focus on managing the following tasks:

  • Oversee System Integration activities at DBJV level;
  • Act as the Advisor Team Leader & prime point of contact for all activities related to the integration of the systems.
  • Responsible for the technical excellence of the engineering functions of the project, including coordination of technical disciplines, quality of designs and adherence to schedule.
  • Participate in the Interface Committees;
  • Chair Internal Interface review meetings;
  • Review Technical requirements and ensure the RAM targets are achieved;
  • Manage the Systems Documentation reviews;
  • Chair System Integration Risk reviews;
  • Manage the interface points between system suppliers and the client and the integration between different systems and with existing environment; 
  • Manages the successful delivery of mandatory interfaces;
  • Lead Test & Commissioning activities;
  • Engage in the Testing and Commissioning at key stages of interface development to meet testing requirements.
     

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical, electrical, civil engineering or related fields;
  • At least 15 years of rail systems integration experience in the rail industry, with pre-existing experience leading a large project as a Systems Manager;
  • Systems engineering experience in the rail industry, particularly design/build project setting;
  • Strong background in Light Rail Transit construction and Implementation; 
  • Solid experience in maintaining and/or designing and constructing railway systems with progressive responsibility in project management;
  • Must be registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or eligible for membership;
  • Knowledge of railway construction/maintenance/inspection practises;
  • Knowledge and skills pertaining to leadership and management practices, business planning, project management and working in a team-based work force as a prime point of contact on a complex rail project;
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues and evaluate and recommend effective solutions to technical design in a tactful manner;
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills, including technical communication, report writing and presentations;
  • Experience and knowledge of rail transit signalling systems or Positive Train Control· Communication based systems knowledge is preferred;
  • Knowledge of railroading, signalling, communications, and other railroad technology.
