Role and responsibilities

  • Assist in creation of clean and accurate data sources for access utilization.
  • Maintain and enhance existing PowerBI dashboards and Excel reports.
  • Track performance against pre-agreed KPIs.
  • Generate project-level performance measures to support LEAN Six Sigma workshops with delivery teams and contractors.
  • Attend LEAN Six Sigma workshops to present the measures and assist with all queries related to performance metrics and data.
  • Investigate inconsistencies between various data sets
  • Support innovation by identifying digital solutions for existing manual processes.

 

Qualifications

Education: Minimum a bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, computer science, or a related field is preferred.

Years of experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role with a minimum of 3 years of experience in LEAN methodologies

Prior years of experience in the railway industry is an asset

 

Technical competencies:

  • Detailed knowledge of PowerBI and ability to develop robust data models and attractive dashboards that provide insights which highlight actionable outputs is a must.
  • Proven track record of implementing digital reporting and dashboarding solutions.
  • Proficiency in conducting complex data analysis, including data cleaning, transformation, and statistical analysis.
  • Effective communication skills to convey technical findings to non-technical stakeholders clearly and concisely.
  • Good technical knowledge of a range of software platforms, databases, and tools
  • Experience of working in diverse, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • A passion for quality and continuous improvement with a focus on delivery.
  • Expertise in Lean and Six-Sigma methodologies and toolsets (yellow belt or better)
  • Understanding project management methodologies and practices.

Personal & soft skills:   

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data in an understandable manner.
  • Able to align and influence people to gain a consensus.
