Summary |
Facility Maintenance Manager to advise the client on matters of installation, repair and upkeep of subway stations and design requirement to adequately address maintenance needs.
This candidate will have a solid understanding of plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems as well as station finishes, platform maintenance and other areas. They will be well-versed in all maintenance process and health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will also have aptitude in undertaking tasks such as estimate reviews, questioning “capital front loading and gold plating” etc.
Role and responsibilities |
- Review proposed maintenance procedures and provide value added feedback
- Participate in planning of future repair and installation activities, including at adjacent construction sites, such as Kennedy
- Review and comment on projected workload and of maintenance staff (custodians, janitors etc.)
- Suggest and proactively monitor planned equipment inventory and use historical knowledge / lessons learned to advise
- Review future budgets for maintenance
- Assist in management of relationships with operators, contractors and service providers
- Ensure the team treats health and safety policies as priority
Qualifications |
Years of experience: 12-15 years of experience as maintenance manager, preferably for a transit system and a maintenance supervisor / line worker for 10 years prior to that
Technical competencies:
- Experience in planning maintenance operations
- Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc.
- Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment, local contractors.
- Ability to keep track of and report on activity
Personal & soft skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
- Fluent in English
