Role anD Responsibilities

  • Define and implement a strategy for MCS “process innovation” (digital transformation, process improvement, speed, efficiency, scalability), “construction innovation” (construction processes and material innovation, IoT), and “community innovation” (smart cities, municipal transformation).
  • Lead and connect between existing Metrolinx technology and systems and build with technology transfer from best practice internationally to take it to the next level. 
  • Repeat and institutionalize it, driving continuously improvement.
  • Develop use of Artificial Intelligence to start that journey.
  • Develop a methodology and framework for “digital twinning” of the project
  • Support the digital transformation of the project (processes, people enablement)
  • Work with the existing team to develop a forward-looking overarching data strategy for GO Expansion
  • Support the build-out of an eco-system of innovation partnerships, IoT, Artificial Intelligence, AR/VR, BIM/ Digital Twin, platforms and infrastructure operating systems, etc
  • Engage with innovation community
  • Strategy and plan for collaboration with academic partners (research, education and training, stimulating entrepreneurship in adjacent areas of interest).
  • Development of a key understanding for the overall project lifecycle in line with GO Expansion program from design through to handover
  • Leadership level expertise in cost and commercial management linked to Innovations and modern methods of construction


Education: Degree or equivalent with professional work experience in one or more specific disciplines in the Program, Project, or Commercial Management.

Years of experience: Minimum 20 years of relevant work experience

  • Membership of professional institute
  • Experience working with or in the higher education sector
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing principles an asset.
