Role and responsibilities

Reporting into the Program Controls Lead for the GO Expansion Program, the Program Reporting Lead is responsible for delivering all aspects of reporting for the GO Expansion Program.  This involves working with key stakeholders to define and develop meaningful reports – including dashboards and other analytics products, hold regular performance reviews, and enable diverse stakeholder audiences to use those products allowing for data-driven decision making on the GO Expansion Program.

 

  • Assist and report to the Program Controls Lead providing senior leadership in the area of reporting
  • Refine & deliver the Program reporting strategy.
  • Lead the Program Controls Reporting Team to produce key reporting deliverables to time and of exceptional quality.
  • Responsible for developing, compiling, proofreading and editing of Program Reporting deliverables; internal & external reports, online dashboard content and analysis.
  • Notify staff & stakeholders of reporting requirements and timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Facilitate and support the monthly Program review meetings.
  • Lead the continual refinement of program reporting methods and formats.
  • Ensure that project information is distilled into meaningful information for reporting and presentation.
  • Develop and/or direct the development of reporting dashboards using Power BI; making use of various visual types.
  • Work closely with the Digital Transformation team to provide data requirements by illustrating gaps in as-is data available through the centralized Data Hub
  • Engage all key stakeholders on emerging analysis and reporting needs.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Transformation team to define forward-looking reporting opportunities through the definition of business logic which will feed into AI/ML models.
  • Must be a cautious and prudent guardian of confidential information.

 

Technical Management Expertise:

The key technical competencies required to perform the role well are outlined below:

  • Proven ability to manage a team effectively and co-ordinate activities within and across large organizations.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in Program Controls, Program Management, Construction and/or Capital Projects.
  • A Degree or equivalent in Engineering, technology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience and proven track record in Project Controls is essential.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work closely with peers, senior managers and external stakeholders.
  • Hands on experience in production of high-quality reporting documents & analysis.
  • Technical writing and graphic design experience a plus.
  • An ability to achieve business results working in a multi-cultural and multi-national environment.
  • Maturity of judgment under pressure and ability to resolve problems without delay.
  • Able to meet deadlines.
  • Thorough knowledge of project controls functions, specifically in the areas of baseline development, performance management and scheduling.
  • Knowledge or experience in the following subject areas considered a plus;
    • Program/Project Commercial Management
    • Rail Access Management
    • Design & Systems Integration
    • Master Data Management
    • Operational Readiness
    • Geographic Information Systems
  • Substantial experience in the use of computer software products including online BI solutions, publishing, graphic design and database applications or experience directing others.
  • Must be fluent in the use of Microsoft Power BI, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, with skills in Data transformation a plus.
  • Knowledge & experience in the use of Microsoft SharePoint, Power Automate, Microsoft Data Flows, Primavera P6 scheduling, ARM Risk Management, Earned Value Management software, all a plus.
