Core Responsibilities |
- The candidate will work in close coordination with the Testing & Commissioning Manager.
- Within a team of rail engineers, the Systems Integration Manager will support the relevant delivery stream business unit with the execution of the technical design team including TA’s for all stages of Technical Engineering Design for projects assigned and to make sure technical aspects are integrated throughout the entirety of the program.
- In conjunction with relevant package/tranche PM’s and/or discipline lead engineers and specialists, confirm and report on the progress of the review of all engineering designs, calculations and drawing packages prepared by Technical Assurance Consultants
- In conjunction with project managers and engineers ensure that all design submittals from TAs have met acceptable standards of Quality Assurance and Quality Control. Ensuring discipline engineers and TAs understand and apply the principals of verification and validation
- In conjunction with project managers and technical engineering teams engage and coordinate Quality Audits of design work processes for all TA submissions
- In conjunction with the delivery team, develop and maintain the project execution plans
- Devises new approaches to solving problems, including root cause analysis
- Plans and coordinates technical engineering training through instructor led and virtual training sessions for the Technical Team In conjunction with design excellence and engineering functions
- Ensure external designs elements are delivered as the baseline
Qualifications |
Education: Bachelor degree in engineering in relevant discipline
Years of experience: 5-10 years
Technical Competencies:
- Monitor the review of TA designs with delivery teams and Design Excellence (Dx) teams to ensure design specifications, guides, standards, and work processes initiated by the design excellence team are applied to all work practices and consistently across the portfolio of projects
- Develop detailed scope catalogue for all projects and manage interface with other delivery units
- Supports the creation of a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction
- Build, strengthen, guide and mentor the Technical Project team
- Reviews changes in incoming/emerging standards and corporate requirements to provide program level input on potential impacts to existing projects
- Coordinates technical issues with other areas of the Organisation that may include constructability/operational requirements and technical reviews
- Provide support to the other departments through commissioning and bringing into use
- Coordinates engineering efforts in assigned areas between speciality and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the TA's, Design Excellence team, Engineering, suppliers and contractors and between other groups
