With ambitious growth plans, this is an excellent time to join SYSTRA Ltd as we continue to develop our signature team in the UK & Ireland with the hire of a Senior Learning & Development Business Partner.


This is a really exciting and challenging opportunity to work with our global business alongside the key focus on the UK & Ireland to broaden and deepen the L&TD offering to our colleagues. Driving the cyclical L&TD calendar of programmes as well as taking a holistic view to identify new opportunities to support specialist and more general requirements, seeking out the best solutions and designing our L&TD strategy. This role can be based form any of our offices in York, London, Birmingham or Manchester, balanced with the flexibility to work from home. It will require some UK travel to build stakeholder relationships and work with your wider L&TD and HR colleagues.


Main Duties:


To lead all aspects of L&TD across the SYSTRA Ltd. business in support of the strategic objectives of the business and aligned to the HR strategy.  Key elements include:


  • To deliver an effective Learning and Talent Development provision to the business
  • To support the HR Director to achieve the HR strategic objectives, by acting as the L&TD lead on a range of different projects and responsibilities.
  • To work closely with HR Business Partners to develop an L&TD agenda that closely supports the overall aims of the organisation.
  • Create learning intervention solutions to the business in support of the annual People Plan,
  • Develop Talent frameworks to support the business to successfully identify, develop and retain high potential employees in line with the wider Group requirements
  • Design and deliver a range of blended learning training packages, including Management and Leadership accessible to all
  • Take a lead role in developing a learning culture across the SYSTRA group, to ensure a robust fit for purpose learning offering is in place to develop our talented workforce.
  • Be creative in your approach to delivering the Learning & Development strategy, having an excellent understanding of the wide range of digital learning tools and ability to implement innovative workshops which engage colleagues
  • Develop effective Apprenticeship and Graduate Programmes
  • Effectively measure the success of all training and learning programmes to demonstrate their ROI


Experience Required:


  • Ideally degree qualified with further training and qualifications relevant to the L&D discipline
  • Significant L&D experience, ideally in a lead role
  • Experience working in a complex organisation with a wide range of stakeholders. Infrastructure industry experience would be a bonus but not essential
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal, with excellent stakeholder engagement experience
  • Demonstrable experience of identifying and tailoring solutions from a short term and long term/strategic perspective
  • Exceptional organisational skills, ideally with a clear project management perspective
