We are immediately hiring for an Assistant E&P/MEP Engineer to join our growing team in York. This position within our Mechanical, Electrical & Plant engineering team will suit a developing E&P engineer with a solid grounding of experience in infrastructure MEP Design, who is keen to part of a busy, high performing team working on some of the most high profile rail engineering projects in the UK. The Assistant E&P Engineer will work with a team of engineers producing the design delivery of allocated E&P/MEP Projects as instructed by the projects Lead MEP Engineer. The role requires presence in the York office, however Systra are adopting a hybrid working arrangement going forward which allows significant flexibility to work from home several days a week.

 

Main Duties:

 

The Assistant E&P engineer’s main duties will be the production of E&P/MEP designs as instructed by the projects Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) and or Lead Engineer and to be responsible for:

  • Ensuring designs are completed to meet CRE/Lead Engineers requirements.
  • Ensuring designs are completed to the timescales agreed with the CRE/Lead Engineer.
  • Planning the allocated design works to meet the agreed timescales.
  • Identify changes to the projects client requirements and raise the changes with the CRE/Lead Engineer.

 

Experience Required:

 

  • This role requires a good understanding of CSM/CDM regulations and requirements. (internal training will be provided.)
  • Experience in the use of Amtech, Microstation and Relux Design Software.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • A self-motivated team player able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to build and maintain good relationships with engineers from other internal discipline teams to promote good inter-discipline working relationships and a “One Team” ethos.
