Main Function of Job

We currently have an opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team in York.

 

This position within our team will suit a committed individual who can demonstrate interpersonal skills combined with commercial awareness, enthusiasm to learn, and the ability to play their part in growing a dynamic high-performance team.

 

With a focus on the design of key rail infrastructure they will primarily be responsible for commercial functions on the TransPennine Route Upgrade (TRU), a major, multi-billion-pound programme of railway improvements. The post-holder will be part of a growing team of UK staff also delivering other projects for a diverse portfolio of UK clients.

 

 

 

 

Main Duties

Working in collaboration with our management team, designers and contract partners, the Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be involved in a variety of tasks such as:

 

  • Timely submission of Applications and contractual notices
  • Cost/time Data Management and analysis
  • Good relationships are maintained with all external parties to enhance the reputation of the company.
  • Working on large multi-disciplinary rail projects.
  • Build relationships with the various Work Package Managers to ensure that they are actively engaged with management of project variations.
  • Working closely with the Commercial and Project Controls Team ensuring that change is managed efficiently and that variations are correctly captured in the Cost Management system.
  • An organised approach to support record keeping.
  • Attend Work Package Reviews
  • Extensive use of Microsoft Products amongst other project communication software as required.
