Systra are looking for a Finance Business Partner to join their Engineering team. In this role you will be providing financial support to the Senior Business Managers within Systra. The role will require liaison throughout the business including engineering Team Leaders, Sales & Proposals, Project Teams, Functions and the Board.
The role will provide support to the Finance Director regarding the day to day financial operation of the business, including working capital management, sales & orderbook management, project financial performance, forecasting and budgeting plus additional projects as appropriate.
This is an extremely exciting role in a dynamic and changing organisation. Critical to the success of this role is the ability to liaise with the Senior Business managers and budget holders.
This role can be based from any of our UK offices alongside hybrid working.
Duties
- Manage period end process – including
- Ensuring project reviews are updated
- All cost accruals are included
- Understanding of project variances – volume and margin %
- Final management accounts preparation
- Day 6 accounts presentation and review – with Senior Management
- Attend Major Project reviews – provide challenge on margin, cashflow etc as required
- Review of WIP and debt with key stakeholders – Project Management, Commercial Management and create plan for recovery where required
- Work with Commercial teams on costs plus contract support – support client audits/ annual rates reviews
- Undertake Quarterly forecast and annual budget cycles
- Support annual external audit and any internal audits
- Bid support – work closely with UK Engineering Bid team to support bid activity including:
- Schedule required bid support
- Maintenance of cost rates
- Production of selling rate models where required
- Production and presentation of Bid Income Statement – ensuring this meets corporate targets – Operating Margin, EBIT, Cashflow
- For Bids reaching threshold for Regional Approval Committees, assist in production of Finance reports
Skills
- Qualified accountant – CIMA/ACA/ACCA
- Experience in Transport Consultancy desirable, ideally within an international group
- Systems literate – experience with ERP systems and systems implementation
- Confident working with client interfaces where required
- Commercial outlook with ability to communicate clearly with non financial staff, good communication skills essential
- Strong excel and presentation skills
