We have a new opportunity for a Payroll Officer to support the Payroll Manager with the preparation of the monthly payrolls and pensions for circa 1,000+ employees in the company.

 

Using the ADP iHCM system, you’ll carry out checks of incoming data, resolve any queries, and update changes to regular payroll transactions. You’ll also maintain benefit databases that have a direct impact on payroll deductions, ensuring member details are always kept up to date.

 

Main Duties 

  • Payroll transaction updates to the ADP iHCM system
  • Respond to payroll related queries through a dedicated payroll inbox
  • Work closely with the HR Operations team to ensure timely processing of monthly leavers and starters
  • Check and process regular payroll transactions
  • Assist in applying adjustments to normal pay, e.g. absence and overtime
  • Prepare benefits payments, e.g., childcare vouchers, cycle scheme, pension contributions
  • Carry out detailed checks prior to data being released to Payroll Manager
  • Responding to payslip and employee portal queries
  • Support Payroll Manager with audit and data requests

 

 

To be successful in this role, we need you to have:

 

  • Experience of payroll processing
  • Understanding of payroll legislation
  • A keen eye for detail, working methodically and accurately
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload in line with the monthly payroll cycle
  • Experience of payroll systems (training in ADP iHCM will be provided)
  • Wide knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with colleagues across the business

 

Desirable

  • Payroll qualification or working towards
